Kabir Humayun: Workers of several ready-made garment factories yesterday staged demonstration in Dhaka demanding disbursement of salary and festival bonus seven days before the Eid-ul- Azha, likely to be observed on August 22. Hundreds of workers and their leaders gathered in front of the Jatiya Press Club around 11am to raise their demand, reports UNB. They also held a rally and brought out a procession here organised by Garment Workers Front. The rally was addressed, among others, by Garment Workers Front president Ahsan Habib Bulbul.
They also urged the government to take necessary steps for payment of Eid bonus and salary. They also demanded announcement of Tk 18,000 as minimum wage for the workers in the RMG sector.
