Kabir Humayun: A Dhaka court yesterday placed bus driver Masum Billah of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan on a seven-day remand in a case filed over the deaths of two students on Airport Road in Dhaka on Sunday.
Metropolitan Magistrate HM Tuah passed the order after he was produced before the court with a seven-day remand prayer by Inspector of Detective Branch of police Kazi Shariful Islam.
Masum Billah is the driver of the bus that hit the students.
Earlier, Rab arrested five people — three drivers including Masum Billah and two helpers — over the accident and handed them over to the police on Monday.
The court will hear the 10-day remand prayers of two other bus drivers –Jubair and Sohag Ali – and two helpers – Md Ripon and Md Enayet – on August 6.
