Sejuti Mourin: A Dhaka court yesterday extended the bail of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the charitable graft case till July 10.
Banglanews reported that Khaleda wasn’t produced before the court because she fell ill in jail. Her lawyer, Sanaullah Mia, pleaded for extending the bail on behalf of her.
Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 Judge Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman passed the order.
Also, a time extension was pleaded for Ziaul Haque Munna, another accused in the same case. The court granted the plea and set a date for hearing arguments regarding this.Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Mosharraf Hossain Kajal was present at the courtroom.
On February 1, the same court installed at the prison department ground in Bakshibazar of old Dhaka granted Khaleda Zia bail till February 25 and later extended it.
On February 8, Khaleda Zia was convicted in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case and sent to jail.
