Over 100 detained in RAB anti-drug raid on Dhaka’s Geneva Camp

    Sofian Khan: Over 100 have been detained by the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during an anti-narcotics drive at Geneva camp in Mohammadpur yesterday.
    According to CDR. Mufti Mahmud Khan, legal and media wing director of the Rab, the drive was conducted by several of their teams around 11:00 am and detained over the suspicion of their involvement in drug peddling.
    “We will interrogate the detainees. After scrutinising, we will take legal action against those who are the real drug traders,” he said. During the drive, they also recovered huge amount of drugs from the camp.
    “Traders will have to stop drug trading. Rab will continue the drive until the drug trading is fully eradicated from the country. None will be spared,” Mufti Mahmud Khan added. The camp, at the heart of Mohammadpur is known to be a hotspot for yaba trade.
