Sayeed Muhammad: Ba-ngladesh has seen a rise in anti-narcotics raids over the past few days, causing deaths of drug dealers and traffickers during encounters with the law enforcers.
Abdur Rahman Bodi, the lawmaker from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency, has long been blamed for his potential link to the drug syndicates, reports the Dhaka Tribune.
Though his being held responsible for the rampart narcotics peddling across the country, he has not faced any legal action as yet.
Reporters asked yesterday Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at the Secretariat why the government is yet to act against MP Bodi.
“We are looking into the allegations against MP Bodi. If you have any information about Bodi or drug dealers, please inform us. There are allegations against Bodi, but there is no evidence,” he said.
