Swapna Aktar: Mayor and councilors of Domar municipality in Nilphamari divided into two groups regarding the appointment in 8 posts. Allegations against the Mayor brought up the matter of dictatorship in decision taking and other irregularities surrounding the appointment.
During the written examination, the deputy commissioner’s representative received complaints of eight councilors that the appointment was done through irregularities. As a result, he returned to Nilphamari after the viva without signing the appointment letter.
Some 60 candidates attended in the written exams and viva against the 8 posts on Saturday afternoon. According to the alleges, participants in the written exams were brought as a proxy for the 8 people have already been appointed in the posts. Municipal panel Mayor Enayet Hossain Noyon in this regard said that the matter is under process.
The two previous recruitment notices were force closed due to the lack of manpower. Recently in 2017, the municipal authorities again took preparations by publishing another recruitment notice. As part of this, even though participation of some 60 people is heard, no one came up with the precise numbers.
