Sejuti Mourin: A Dhaka court yesterday directed authorities to highlight BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia being arrested in two more cases, as well as setting July 5 for the next hearing, reports Dhaka Tribune.
One of these cases was filed over defamatory statements Khaleda allegedly made against freedom fighters, and the other one was filed against the BNP chief over reportedly celebrating fake birthdays using false information.Dhaka Metropolitan magistrates Ahsan Habib and Khurshid Alam passed the order for the abovementioned cases respectively. Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder repre sented Khaleda Zia in the hearings. “The court has set a date for passing its order on granting bail to Khaleda Zia in two cases.
She has been imprisoned for the past four months. We want to bail her out as soon as possible,” the lawyer added.Meanwhile, Chief Prosecutor at Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court, Abdullah Abu, opposed granting bail to Khaleda Zia.
