Internal crisis behind CHT tension, violence

Internal crisis over leadership is the reason for the tension and violence in the hill tracts. Other than these two causes, no other reason has been detected as yet. And the security system that prevails now in the hill tracts is poor. The security system is no longer under the supervision of the army. Members of the army have been withdrawn from different spots there. Now the question arises as to how much the security-providers know about the hill districts and are experienced over the region, to  ensure security. This is all because Chattogram hill tracts are a tough area. It is needed to examine how much the security-providers are capable of the job. When I was there, I used to know well about the region. But the civil administration and the police, too, are supposed to do the same. Because the military is not involved there any longer. The army used to patrol the roads, erect check posts and conduct raids to recover arms and ammunition. Now it is mandatory to find out who are bringing firearms and where they are getting those from and who are distributing those.
