The government has taken initiation in order to increase the storage capability & efficiency of the granaries all over the country. Also, government storages at 214 upazillas in 62 districts, will be renovated. The 330 crores taka worth proposal report had been sent to the Planning Commission. If it is approved, the authority aims to complete the project by June 2020. Many storage houses are in poor condition, informed the Food Administration’s Director Joyardar Ashraful Islam. Meanwhile, Bangladesh is a very populous country. Thus, government not only aims to renovate the old ones, but also to ensure the continuous food supply for the mass people.
