There is lack of transparency & accountability checks in the economic sector of Bangladesh. It creating scopes for the great irregularities in the system. Former Chairman of Janata Bank, economist Dr. Abul Barkat made these statements at the pre-event seminar of 20th Biennial Conference of Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA), on yesterday. He also added that, though infrastructure developments are visible. But, behind the curtain health, education & economic sectors are not progressing as harmoniously. The three days long 20th Biennial Conference of BEA will be inaugurated by the Honorable Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, at Institute of Diploma Engineers on Thursday. Deputy Speaker Advocate Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia will attend the event as the chief guest later on. Economist Prof. Rehman Sobhan has also been invited as a guest to attend this event.
