Muhammad Bukhari receives Honoris Causa in Journalism in Canada

    The regular columnist and correspondent of the Daily Our Time and Dainik Amader Orthoneeti in Canada, Muhammad Ali Bukhari has been bestowed the Honoris Causa with a medal in Journalism by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration of the Province of Ontario, Laura Albanese in an annual get together dinner event of the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) held at the Cypriot Community Centre in Toronto on December 15 evening while more than 300 NEPMCC members, diplomatic representatives of various countries as well as its President, Thomas S. Saras were in attendance. The Honoris Causa has been introduced in conjunction with the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration of Ontario in commemoration of Canada’s 150th birthday this year. It explains that, Muhammad Ali Bukhari has been granted this honour for his distinguished services provided in promoting equality, respect to human values, the human rights, co-operation and understanding among the members of the various cultural groups of the Canadian society as well as arts, science, industry, public service and media. Therefore, the award committee comprised of the chairman, Dr. Mohammad Tajdolati along with two other members, Mrs. Maria Voutsinas and Mr Ricky Castellvi have signed and sealed the honour.
