Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday has said that the Zia family has about $12 billion investments in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other countries. The laundered money by Khaleda Zia and her son Tareq Rahman should be brought back, said the roads transport and bridges minister at the AL President’s Dhanmondi political office.The PM on Thursday while speaking at a press conference at the Gono Bhaban remarked Khaleda Zia for corruption allegations on the Zia family “based on information”.A day later, BNP’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged the PM to apologize for her remarks or else the party would take legal action. Quader on Saturday replied, if the allegations are proven wrong then, AL would also fight them legally. He also said that if BNP have the courage, they should take legal measures.
