523 Hindu Rohingyas fled to Bangladesh to save themselves from being victimized for persecution. Among these 523, 27 Hindu Rohingyas went back to Myanmar for Durga Puja and never returned. The campers believe the 27 have fled to Myanmar through Naikhongchhari’s Ghumdum border.OC Abul Khair of Ukhiya Police Station said that he has heard about the news of fleeing but no details have been gathered yet as nobody filed for GD. Recently, the Cox’s Bazar district’s law and order committee became concerned about this matter as many people questioned the security of the border. The committee decided to keep the 496 Hindu Rohingyas in a special protected farm of Kutupalong, Ukhia. Meanwhile, a source claimed that these Hindu families have fled under the propagation of Myanmar’s army. After crossing the Ghumdum border, the armies take photos of them during open air walks and later, a helicopter comes to take these families to Rangoon city of Myanmar.
