20% Of The Highways Became Unusable Within 2 Months

    121 highways sites of Gazipur areas, Comilla zone, Chittagong highway, Bagura & Madaripur, were renovated spending about 140 cores taka, just 2 months ago. Unfortunately, within only 2 months 20% of these renovation totally went to waste. These roads became totally unusable for transportation purposes. Then had to be re-renovated at the expense of 40 crores taka, adding to the pile of loss.
    Rushing these projects drastically reduces the quality of the work & longevity, mentions Road Transport and Highways Division. Experts complain about the unprofessionalism & incompetency of the contractors. 165 more highways sites were renovated at the cost about 200 crores taka, regarding the Eid-ul-Azha. But, 20% of these roads were already covered in the project during Ramadan. This unexpected inconvenience became a cause of suffering for many.
