Shochiku’s romantic film “Evergreen Love” has finally pit an end to the reign of Disney’s “Zootopia”.
This news came after four weeks of topping the charts, reports variety.com.
“Evergreen Love” since its release has earned about $3.2 million.
The plot of the film is based on a bestselling novel about a working woman who becomes affectionate towards a mystery man she finds collapsed in front of her building.
The film was boosted by the fans of Takahata, who starred in a hit NHK morning drama, and Iwata, a member of the J-pop powerhouses Exile and Sandaime J Soul Brothers. The film is expected to approach the $20 million mark by the end of its run.
It is estimated that the film will $20 million by the end of the week.
