    Dear You,

Right now you are feeling like you are not good enough; pretty enough; smart enough. Right now you are feeling insecure. In your heart, you know that you ARE capable. It’s not that you don’t love yourself. You’re just not feeling completely “yourself” right now. I want to take this opportunity to remind you of a few things. I want to remind you that you are kindhearted and that people value your friendship and your love. I want to remind you that you are loved. I want to remind you that you are an incredible person. I want to remind you that there is no one quite like you in this world and that is a thing you should cherish. Cherish the fact that you are to be cherished.

Insecurity is a natural feeling and it is absolutely okay to feel insecure at times. But sweetheart, don’t let that feeling take over! Stop comparing yourself to others, who, believe it or not, has compared themselves to other people. They might even have compared themselves to you! We all get insecure. Please know in your heart that these differences between yourself and others are what makes this world a wonderful place to live in! Learn to value your uniqueness. Don’t ever wish that you were born a different way because, yes, YOU ARE ENOUGH.

You are beautiful. You are gorgeous. No, I am not talking about your looks, I am talking about your inside. You have so much to offer and anyone would be lucky to cross your path in their life. Guess what? People leave this world a better person because of you. Yes darling, you have that effect on a person. Do you know how special that is? That your presence contributes to a better world?

I want to ask you for a favor. Think back to the time you felt most proud of yourself. Go back to that particular moment and feel invincible. Go ahead. Bask in the positivity of that experience and it will help lift you from the depths of insecurity. That is the thing about insecurity. It is nothing but a few negative thoughts that drag you deeper and deeper down, the more you let it bother you. Think of it as a patch of quicksand. Either walk around it or give yourself a branch to pull you out of it.

I know you can rise above this. Like Taylor Swift jams, SHAKE IT OFF. Shake off those feelings. The world is yours to conquer. And you are capable of it. All you needed was a small reminder.

    Love,
    Someone who has been there.
