Is your shopping diary basically that expectation vs. reality meme on Facebook that shows what you thought you were ordering and what was actually delivered to you? Well, worry no more because Facbook promises to pay more attention to advertisers providing tremendously substandard products. This happened after Buzzfeed did published an article, on Tuesday, described that how a group of Chinese clothing companies, for instance- DressLily, TideBuy, and Zaful, have been able to thrive on Facebook even though more than thousands of North American women complained, saying that the pages use stolen pictures from fashion blogs, other people and companies, and sell poorly made replicas of the outfits in the stolen pictures. The replicas arrive after weeks, and often months, if it does not arrive at all, and there is never any refund policies.
The social networking site said that its ad and page supervising system does not read the bad experiences users have once an click-trap takes them away from the site. Moreover, the companies always delete any bad reviews or comments on their pages, which boosts their likes to about 1, 00,000 a day! Regardless of the surge in complaints, DressLily has 7.1 million likes on Facebook, and another such company- RoseGal 8.2 million, which is more likes than internationally famous American brands like Gap or J.Crew have.
Facebook is trying to build new algorithms that will allow them to incorporate certain alarms which will supposedly aid in identifying exactly which of the 50 million plus active businesses (dress retailers and others alike) on Facebook that are delivering products that terribly dissatisfies the customer.
