Those roadside hermits who keep screaming that robots will soon take over the world and that the world will end in 2012 were not wrong! Well, they were wrong about the world ending but they were on point about the robots. Soo, the users of Facebook Messenger, Skype and Kik can find artificial intelligence or chat bots to assist them in many things. These chatbots are designed in a way so that they can converse just like humans and carry out those small tasks you can’t perform due to procrastination. Additionally, rumor has it that Google and other companies are also working on similar softwares.
When a 31 year-old attorney from Washington D.C., Samantha Guo visited China, she was amazed at how prevalent the use of chatbots to book movie tickets and pay bills were.
The messaging bots can be expected to carry out a wider array of tasks than the conventional apps or software you get in the store. This is partly because bots are capable of recognizing a huge range of spoken or typed phrases, whereas typical apps ask the users to scroll through their drop down menu. Apparently using chatbots is as easy as clicking on an online add or scanning a barcode!
