If you don’t drink or smoke, what do you get high on? Everyone enjoys the ‘cloud nine’ feeling, but do we have to resort to external chemical aids to achieve that feeling? No! Want to know some ways of getting the most umph out of really fun practices? Read on.
1. Yoga and meditation: The meditative high is noa joke. For those searching for a spiritual experience, a Kundalni or Bikram would be right up your alley. They channelize your energy to alter your state of consiousness and reach a high, different from that of smoking pot. You might need to scoop yourself back into your body afterward!
2. Ecstatic dance: Dancing has a direct influence to the degree of consiousness you reach. Dancing to binaural beats moves you spiritually, working those endorphins up in a fury. A few calories hand-in-hand with a couple of good-feeling days? Downright YES!
3. Conscious love-making: While sex is great always, if you’re looking for more than a workout, take your time and show your love. Tantra love-making has its roots in ancient Hinduism (of course *smirks*). It is a merger of brainwave alteration, pure pleasure, meditation and energy combination with another soul. Watch the movie ‘Valley of flowers’ featuring Millind Soman and Mylene Jamponoi, and you will know what I am talking about.
4. Deep, slow, purposeful breathing: Slow breaths will call to attention the causes of your frustration or stress. It’s vital you smile to it inwardly and release it with your next deep exhale. This is far more effective than smoking for stress management and won’t give you cancer!
