The European aircraft manufacturer is joining forces with an industrial conglomerate from Germany, called Siemens (SIEGY), to build a type of hybrid plane that can carry approximately a hundred passengers. The aircraft’s engine is described as an electric power meets the usual fuel type.
Florian Martini, a Siemens spokesperson, said that this new model of engine will be less loud and more efficient. The hybrid Airbus plane will use up about 25% less fuel, and will make little or no noise during takeoff and landing. When it is up in the air, the plane will run on jet fuel. Tom Enders, the CEO said in a statement their definitive objective is to develop a “zero-emissions aviation”
