Court sets Bodi graft case next witness date on April 13

    On Wednesday Court sets new date in a graft case against ruling Awami League lawmaker Abdur Rahman Bodi filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission.

    Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of Dhaka Special Judges Court 3 recorded the depositions of the witness, the former Cox’s Bazar’s Sub-Register Motahar Hossain and after that the court has set the new date. With this, 10 out of 12 witnesses gave their disposition.

    The ACC filed the case with Ramna police station in the capital on August 21, 2014, after finding evidence against Bodi of accruing wealth illegally and hiding information in his wealth statement submitted to the ACC.

    After finishing probe, on May 13 last year, the ACC Deputy Director Manjur Morshad submitted a charge sheet against him in the case.

    The same year on September 8, the court framed the charges against Bodi – the lawmaker from Cox’s Bazar 4 constituency.
