Newly formed Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police is ready to help Bangladesh Bank (BB) investigate the cyber heist where the central bank lost US$101.
The hackers swindled out the amount from the BB account with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York last month. The sensational heist surfaced after a Philippines newspaper published a report on it.
Talking to reporters at the DMP Media Centre on Sunday, chief of the CTTC unit Monirul Islam said the Bangladesh Bank authorities are yet to seek any help from them to investigate the matter.
