Our Time Desk
Every game franchise suffers from one inevitable problem, after the fifth or sixth installment it becomes hard to keep the product fresh. The last installment Far Cry 4 was a rehashed version of its predecessor. When Far Cry Primal was announced, it received mixed reactions from the fans. However Far Cry turned out to be a serious and new take on open world games, not just a “caveman” take on Blood Dragon.
Although the premise is simple- you, an isolated member looking for your clan, taking down your enemies. But the features and gameplay make the survival feel very real and tangible in Far Cry Primal. The game allows you to furnish your own tools and weapons. The brutality, hunting, foraging and violence were all parts of the Stone Age. Far Cry Primal did not get rid of all the regular video game tropes and brought something absolutely new to the table. The player still possessed a map with GPS like accuracy, although the setting was in the Stone Age. However, the game was still a breath of fresh air.
The reception of Far Cry Primal is crucial for Ubisoft. If it proves to be a success then Ubisoft will continue with this project. Hopefully, Ubisoft will keep transporting us to times and places we have never experienced before.
