Land Minister and Language Movement veteran Shamsur Rahman Sharif today said the Bangalee nationhood and movement for self-governance had emerged from the spirit of the Language Movement in 1952. “The Bangalee nation resisted a plot to destroy Bangla language giving misinterpretations of religion,” he said speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting in the city marking the International Mother Language Day.
