Residing on the top of the “World’s most loved mysteries” list is the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. People have hunted several theories in an attempt to limelight the intriguing Bermuda Triangle, and here are the top four.
I am sure you have heard of the Bermuda Triangle, but, just for the sake of it I’m going to introduce it to you. *Spotlight on*. The Bermuda Triangle (a.k.a the Devil’s Triangle or the Isle of the Devils) is a region roughly in the shape of a triangle, located between Miami on the Florida coast and two islands, the island of Bermuda and the island of San Juan in Puerto Rico, that has reportedly the highest number of cases of planes and ships mysteriously disappearing without trace.
Theory 1: Comet
A comet from outer space crashed into the earth some thousands of years ago, near the area that is now the Bermuda Triangle.
People who believe in this theory also seem to believe that somewhere in the depths of the ocean, there lies the remains of this comet and it is the electromagnetic field of that comet that causes all the havoc.
Theory 2: Time Warp
This theory says that the reason for so many disappearances is time travel. Basically, the theory claims that when something ends up at the Bermuda Triangle, it either travels back in time or to some time in the future. Some people report to have seen a huge tunnel shaped cloud around the region, which they believe is a tunnel for time travel.
Theory 3: The City of Atlantis
This theory is supported by people who believe that the lost city of Atlantis lies close to the Bahamas. What they also believe is that the mysterious city lies buried somewhere below the ocean, and legend has it that this city was powered by energy obtained from powerful crystals. The effect of the remains of these crystals is what is responsible for the aircraft radio signals going haywire.
Theory 4: Extraterrestrial Activity
Okay so there are two versions of this theory but the gist is the same: the disappearances are caused by aliens. One version states that it all occurs due to aliens abducting people while the other version has a slightly different take on it. It claims that the aircraft and ships traveling over the region sometimes end up there at the time when aliens are supposedly traveling between their planets and ours. They are automatically pulled into another dimension or even to another planet altogether. In spite of the fact that this theory lacks proof, it is the one that has captured the imagination of one and all. Steven Spielberg’s movie ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ adds to the belief!
