The new generation is fed up of hearing the terms ‘pro’ and ‘anti’ liberation forces

Dr. Kamrul Hasan speaks to DOT :
I myself have written several articles to create national unity, because there is no alternative to national unity in building a beautiful nation. Through my writings, I requested the Prime Minister to take steps establish national unity. Since this is a new government and a new parliament, national unity is very vital. It has been 47 long years since our independence. As a result, the young generation no longer has any interest in bothering what’s pro-liberation and what’s anti-liberation. Neither do they want to hear these terms anymore – because it is impossible for any anti-liberation force to survive in this nation. This is why I believe that we as a nation should unite the way we did in 1971 for the sake of advancing this country forward. All of us should believe in the spirit of the Liberation War as well as the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. There can never be any opposition to this. Those who believe in Bangladesh and its independence should unite. There can be politics, differing points of view but all of us should have the same spirit of the Liberation War burning within us.
I thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for urging the nation to unite, because she is the only person who is capable of uniting us. We should all heed her words, for the sake of the nation and its people. Nevertheless, we should also promote constructive criticism of the government.
