Iti, Tomari Dhaka wins award at Jaipur

DOT Desk: Country’s first omnibus project “Iti, Tomari Dhaka” has been awarded at Jaipur International Film Festival in India, reports The Daily Observer.
It has won the Best Original Screenplay award at the eleventh edition of the festival. Abu Shahed Emon, creative producer of the film has confirmed the news.

It might be added that Abu Shahed Emon’s second only attempt at a big screen production is “Iti, Tomari Dhaka.” His debut film “Jalaler Golpo” is the first and only Oscar nominated film from Bangladesh. “Iti, Tomari Dhaka” includes eleven young directors each telling a different story.
About the film’s success Emon said, “The film was selected as the opening film of the festival, which is a special recognition. We were very pleased with this arrangement. Now that it has even won an award, our expectations have been fulfilled.” The Jaipur International Film Festival started from January 18 and ended on January 22.
Previously the film was selected for screening at Indonesia’s Jagja International Film Festival and India’s Mumbai Third Eye International Film Festival. Last year it was premiered at Busan International Film Festival, South Korea.
