Govt statement on quota issue unclear

Awami League after assuming the office has gained more power and can do whatever it wants. The premier after taking the helm again has got so much power that she can settle the quota issue permanently in just a day. The government takes decision on what it finds beneficial for it. The government did not clear its stance in this case. Had it had done so, there must not have any complications in this case. If the quota movement rages on again, it would create the life of the city people miserable. The people will themselves be responsible for the situation since our tolerance level is so wide.
The people tolerate so much falsehood and duly, are due such sufferings. They have to take to the streets for even a minimum right. The people do not respond to the calls made for good things.
Regretfully, there is no point of speaking of the quota problem taking the side of the people. All the decisions in our country are taken up by the prime minister, who enjoys immense power. The prime minister understands so much that none can even get closer to her in this regard. So, we have no ground to talk the quota thing. The government needs to have good wish to settle it, instead. Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque is an academician. Based on a translation by Jewel Khan, translated by Sayeed Muhammad
