UNB: A man was hacked to death allegedly by his rivals at Sripur Bazar in Santhia upazila.
The deceased was identified as Hafiz Miah, 42, son of Abu Taher Miah of Raghurampur village in Laxmipur union of Atghoria upazila, and was a regional leader of Purbangla Communist Party (Lal Pataka). Sequel to the enmity, Hafiz locked into an altercation with Sabbir in the afternoon and slapped him.
Later, Sabbir along with his fellow swooped on Hafiz around 9:30pm and hacked him with a sharp weapon.
Being rescued by locals, the injured was taken to Pabna General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
