Plastic fair begins in Dhaka

    DOT Desk: The four-day 14th International Plastic Fair-2019 began at International Convention City, Bashundhara in Dhaka on Thursday. Industries minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun inaugurated the fair at a programme at Radisson Blu Hotel, reports The New Age BD. Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association and Taiwan-based Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co Ltd organised the fair to promote plastic goods in the country and exports of the plastic products. Prime minister’s private sector development adviser Salman F Rahman, Bangladesh Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Md Shafiul Islam and BPGMEA president Jashim Uddin were present at the inauguration programme.
    A total of 480 participants including manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, mould, raw materials and plastic products from 19 countries are participating at the fair.
    Participants are showcasing their products in 15 categories including plastic household items, packaging materials, plastic mould, crockeries and toy items, pharmaceutical items, plastic furniture, melamine items, garment accessories and PP woven bags at 780 stalls at the fair.
    Various types of machinery such as plastic injection moulding machine, PP woven bag machine, packaging machine, flexographic printing machine, PET blow machine and plastic bag making machine are also on exhibition at the fair.
