Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have detained five persons from different parts of capital Dhaka and outskirts on charge of committing fraud using the names of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her family members and some national leaders, reports The Daily Observer.
“A team of RAB-2 nabbed the five persons on different charges, including committing fraud through opening fake Facebook accounts in the name of the Prime Minister, her family members and a number of national leaders,” said a text message sent to media by the RAB sources yesterday morning.
They are : Omar Farooque,30, Sabbir Hossain,24, Al Amin,27, Aminul Islam,25, and Monir Hossain,29.
“The detainees are cyber criminals. They used to collect money through fraudulence,” the SMS cited.
The elite force will disclose the details in a press conference later.
