“While the heart breaking death of a major fan-favorite character of GAME OF THRONES is top of the mind at the moment, there were several other major pieces reverberating through the episode. Hold onto your socks, here are rest 3 of the episode’s key moments continued.
1. “Hold the Door”: The death blows were not halted with Raven and Summer. We lost one of the most beloved characters in the entire series: Hodor, ripped to pieces by the wights, all while holding them at bay so Bran and Meera could flee into the night. To make it even worse, this is the moment that turned Wylis into Hodor, a result of Bran’s time traveling and warging abilities that zapped Hodor’s consciousness across time. The last words he ever heard-the words that echoed all the way back to the past in a haunting development both caused and witnessed by Bran- “Hold the door”.
2. The Bear and the Dragon: Following seasons of struggle, Dany and JorahMormont arrived at peace with one another, as Jorah confessed his love for Dany which she fondly reciprocated.
While they are not likely destined for a great romance, the reconciliation between the two was impeccably heartwarming. All he needs to find now is the greyscale cure so that he can live long and help his Dany conquer the Iron Throne.
3. The New Red Woman: A new, powerful woman enters the fray in the form of Kinvara, a Red Priestess of R’hllor. Not only does she describe Dany as “the one who was promised” an echo of how Melissandre currently describes Jon Snow, her knowledge of how Varys became an eunuch also indicates power levels positioned similar to Melisandre’s. With the show brewing war against the White Walkers, it certainly cannot hurt putting in more than one powerful, fiery sorceress in the mix.
