JP won’t become a ‘questionable’ opposition: GM Quader

DOT Desk: Jatiya Party (JP) Co-Chairman GM Quader yesterday said his party will never become a “questionable” opposition in the parliament, reports The Daily Star. Instead, he said, JP will gain people’s confidence through playing the role of a real opposition party in the House.
GM Quader came up with the remarks at a reception programme at JP Chairman HM Ershad’s Banani office. The party’s Rajshahi City unit accorded the reception. Addressing the party leaders and activists, GM Quader, who has been acknowledged by the Speaker of parliament as deputy leader of the opposition, said JP will play its due role in parliament so that the organisation becomes stronger before the next national election through gaining people’s trust.
“There is a bright possibility in front of Jatiya Party to emerge as a stronger organisation. Many popular and socially established leaders will join our party due to new political equation,” he also said.
He further said that the existence of many political parties has been lost. But Jatiya Party will survive with people’s love for the party. Mostafa Rahman Dalim, general secretary of JP Rajshahi city unit, party leaders Lutfor Rahman, Nazrul Islam, Enamul Haq were, among others, present at the meeting.
