The prime minister will sit with the political parties again for a dialogue at Gono Bhaban, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced yesterday.
The parties will be invited to the Gono Bhaban through letters, Quader told media at the AL office on Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka. They were previously invited to the Gono Bhaban before the election, reports The Daily Star.
Quader revealed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold the meetings to address the post-polls situation.

A total of 234 political leaders, BNP-led Jatiya Oikyafront, Awami-League-led 14-party grand alliance and other alliances of left-leaning parties and Islamic parties, as well as 70 other political parties took part in the dialogues before the general election.

Different political parties held dialogues with the prime minister amid uncertainty over participation of all political parties in the election. The parties were divided over the mode of the election-time government, dissolution of parliament, use of electronic voting machines and the role of army during the election.

The BNP and its allies as well as some other opposition parties demanded a non-partisan government, dissolution of parliament and reconstitution of the Election Commission before the polls, among other things.

The AL and its allies, on the other hand, said the election would be held in line with the constitution, meaning with the incumbent government in office and without dissolving the parliament.
