JU to observe founding anniv on Jan 12

    DOT Desk: The authorities of Jahangirnagar University will observe its 48th founding anniversary on January 12, reports The New Age. To mark the day, university authorities have taken up elaborate programmes on the campus, said the university’s public relations office on Wednesday. Jahangirnagar University vice-chancellor Professor Farzana Islam will inaugurate the day’s events in the morning.
    A procession led by the vice-chancellor will be brought out from the business studies faculty premises and will end at the Selim Al Deen Muktamancha after parading the different streets on the campus.
    The procession will be followed by a discussion session that will be held at the muktamacha.
    Teachers, students, officials and staffs of the university will attend the function.
    To mark the day, the Teacher-Student Centre and Student Welfare and Counseling Centre will jointly organise a cultural function at the Selim Al Deen Muktamancha in the afternoon.
    The day’s events will also feature folk song presentations to be performed by eminent folk singer Momtaz Begum.
