Hollywood actor Elijah Wood explicated his remarks on Monday after suggesting in an interview with a London newspaper that sexual abuse of child actors was more widespread in Hollywood than had been reported. Mr. Wood put out a statement accentuating that his comments weren’t based on personal experience subsequently an interview with The Sunday Times. Nevertheless, his words brought reintroduced attention to the general dilemma of child actors, who do not always make the jump to adult stardom, as Mr. Wood did. Mr. Wood being 35 years old said he gave The Sunday Times interview for promoting a movie, “The Trust,” but the topic drifted to child stars and pedophilic actors. When the matter of Jimmy Savile came up He told the interviewer that undoubtedly there is something going on in Hollywood, but he assured he was not targeted and he did not name others he thought were involved.
