Barhatta upazila adjacent to Netrokona district Area 221.50 sq km. Total population is 158133. Most of the upazilas of the upazila were surrounded by the Kangso and Kounal rivers. Barhatta was converted to Thana in 1905 and it was turned into an upazila in 1983. Parliamentary seat of Netrakona-Barhatta.
The 28th batch administration cadre Farida Yesmin joined Barhatta Upazila Executive Officer on May 9, 2017. After that Barhatta social and administrative image was going to change. After completing the routine work, he soon completed positive social interaction. He took the primary schools in his own glory. The images of social networking work in the intimate environment were coming to one another. He also lacked laziness in the construction of roads, ghat, bridges, culvert etc. in social way. Zero Tolerance issued against child marriage.
From the presence of physically present, he created a storm of discussion in the district by preventing 37 child marriages. The social conflict also tackled hard. In the end, the best UNO is recognized. When asked about this recognition, UNO Farida Yesmin said, “This recognition will encourage me to work more. I am grateful to the district administration ”
District Administrator Moin-Ul Islam said, “Barhatta UNO Farida Yesmin was recognized as the best UNO in the district for making extensive contribution in primary education as a UNO .”
