Police yesterday dispersed a group of protesters who were demanding a re-election under non-partisan government.
About 50 people, under the banner of “National Unity for right to voting and good governance” formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club around 11am, reported Dhaka Tribune.
ABM Mostafa Amin, convener of the platform, claimed that police snatched their banners and evicted them from the spot.
“We were forced to leave the area,” he said.
The platform is now holding a meeting at its Dhanmondi office in Dhaka to decide its next course of action, he told the Tribune yesterday.
