114 held with arms, drugs in three districts

    Police, in an anti-drug drive from Wednesday night till Thursday morning, arrested 32 drug traders and takers from the district, reports The Daily Observer.
    At least 10 cases were filed against them in this connection.
    Police also recovered 100 yaba tablets, 75 bottles of phensedyl, 200 grams of hemp, and 75 pieces of sedative injections from them, said Dinajpur Police Control Room sources.
    Later, a local court sent them to jail on Thursday noon.
    SATKHIRA: Police, in special drives, arrested 79 people, who are accused in different cases, from eight upazilas of the district from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.
    Of them, 22 were arrested from Sadar upazila, 11 from Kolaroa upazila, seven from Tala upazila, 10 each from Kaliganj, Debhata and Ashsashuni upazilas, four from Shyamnagar upazila and six from Patkelghata upazila, said Inspector Azam Khan of Special Branch of Satkhira police.
    Besides, several cases were filed against them.
    BARISHAL: At least three people were arrested along with arms,
    fake notes and drugs from Gouranadi Upazila of the district on Tuesday night.
    Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-8 confirmed the matter at a press conference in the city.
    The arrested are: Mohammad Hira Majhi, 38, son of Ingal Majhi of Kataksthal, his associate Mohammad Biplab Bepari, 26, son of Liakat Ali Bepari of the same area, and Palash Kumar Mitra, 28, son of Santosh Kumar Mitra of Sundardi area in the upazila.
    Law Officer of RAB-8 Mohammad Tajul Islam said acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB raided at Kataksthal Village and nabbed them along with a foreign pistol, two magazines, six rounds of bullets, 122 bottles of phensedyl, four kg of hemp, two bottles of foreign wine, 3,400 yaba tablets, fake notes of Taka 25,000, cash Taka 56,785 collected from drug selling, 11 SIM cards and 12 mobile phone sets.
    RAB-8, Barishal CPSC DAD Mohammad Jahirul Islam filed a case with Gouranadi Police Station in this connection.
