A clash—between supporters of Awami League and BNP—has left 24 leaders and activists injured during an election campaign procession in Rangamati.
The incident occurred at the district’s Vedvedi area on Sunday night. Both Awami League and BNP called separate press conferences for the same day.

I condemn the attack on Awami League leaders and activists, and urge the administration to bring the culprits to justice.”
The press conference was attended by several senior party leaders, including district Awami League General Secretary Haji Musa Matubbar and Joint General Secretary Jasim Uddin Babul. Meanwhile, at a separate press conference, BNP’s candidate for Rangamati constituency, Swapan Dewan, said: “This incident proves that a level playing field is yet to become a reality in this country.

Central BNP Assistant Religious Affairs Secretary Dipen Dewan, district BNP President Shah Alam, former municipality mayor and district Vice President Saiful Islam were present at the press conference; among many others.
