BD Rahmatullah speaks to DOT : The Awami League is afraid of its possible defeat, due to which it is not helping create a level-playing field. The ruling party will continue applying the method until the day of election, to retain power.
Against the rising mass upsurge for BNP, the ruling Awami League is experiencing something exactly reverse. Though there has been development, it benefitted a little portion of the people, making them anti-Awami League.
The party now knows that the people are against it. So it needs to win the election. If they lose the polls, their situation will be much worse than that of BNP. It will try taking the polls result to its side. If so, the consequences will be so dire. We’ll not be having some good time for the next few days. Thus far, it has attacked its opposition so many times. The Election Commission and the police are for Awami League so it now has extra power. Right now, I don’t like either Awami League or BNP. But the way the ruling party was indulged in corruption, it caused me to hate it. I also reckon that voting for BNP will resolve all the issues.
In many areas, BNP launched counter attacks. If the Election Commission doesn’t take proper measures to this end, such a situation will keep deepening until the election. If the Election fails to control the police and Awami League, it will lead to a devastating situation. The symptoms so far are so bad. I fear that the situation will become so frightening as of the election day.
