Relatives of a male patient vandalised a local hospital on Saturday night following his death allegedly for wrong treatment in Lakshmipur town, reports The New Age. Laxmipur police superintendent ASM Mahatab Uddin said Mohammad Sekandar, a Lakshmipur district office staff from village Abir Nagar, was taken to Lakshmipur Modern Hospital with chest pain around 7:00pm.
As the patient’s condition deteriorated, the on-duty doctor pushed an injection around 9:00pm. Later, Sekandar died, alleged his relatives.
Being angered over the incident, his relatives vandalised the hospital.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
Meanwhile, police detained three hospital staff including on-duty physician Dr Md Jewel and OT boy Oziullah.
Police also recovered the body and sent it to Lakshmipur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
