Trump is following on Footsteps of H.W Bush :Mehdi Hasan

Mehdi Hassan,Senior Correnspondent & Analyst for Al Jazeera & The Intercept, his latest piece is titled “The Ignored Legacy of George H.W. Bush: War Crimes, Racism, and Obstruction of Justice.”
He attended in a live video Interview taken by liberal and critical Pro-Democratic US Movement, ‘Democracy Now’
President George HW Bush was described by US news media, both in anti-trump camp and in pro: right wing outlets, as someone who was anti-Trump. Though his deeds and actions were similar to Trump. He pardoned the Iran-contra perpetrators; he pardoned defense secretary Casper Weinberger on the eve of his trial on the Iran-Contra issue. The independent special counselor of that time said this is misconduct. Lauren Walsh was appointed as an independent investigator who worked under Justice Department. He said the President is helping to cover-up the crime. Though nobody paid attention to his pleas. Those fell into empty ears of American right wing and so called liberal political establishments. Today we again see this affair resurfaced, when Trump says that he might pardon Paul Manafaurt. All this helped HW Bush before and now it might also help Trump, to hide criminal manifestations that have corrupted the very base of American politics. Mehdi Hassan argues to the point that now, “we should hold them to same account as we hold other people.”

During the Iran-Contra affairs the Regan administration decided to sell weapons to Iran, at that time a declared enemy of the United States. The money from this secret sell was funneled to Nicaragua by CIA to support ruthless anti-communist guerillas that toppled the communist government in Nicaragua. It was the violation of American Congress’s ban of weapon sells to Iran, but it was overlooked under the rhetoric of fighting back and stopping communism in Central America. Special Counselor Lauren Walsh’s investigation on this matter was similar to Bob Mueller style we see today. When he tried to look at this he was stopped by Regan’s successor late senior Bush himself. He then pardoned the six top perpetrators, newcoon Elliot Abrams, Casper Weinberger among others. The special counselor report on the Iran-contra issue is still available online. Anyone can go there and see that it says, Senior Bush helped to cover up this issue and he didn’t co-operated with the investigation. This report also says, “it was the first time an American president pardoned someone on the eve of the trial that required the president to give his own testimony on this matter. That’s what George Bush senior did but today we are told to forget these issues. Though we can’t, because Trump always reminds us about the legacy of senior Bush that he’s eager to follow on.”
