Dr. Mizanur Rahman speaks to DOT :
Giving 132 seats to the Jatiya Party candidates will not hurt the Awami League in any way.
The Plow and the Paddy have the same voters. Plow voters believe in religion-politics, anti-India and state-religion Islam politics. These are the ideals of BNP and Jatiya Party.
If votes are divided, it will be among these parties. On the other hand, there is no possibility of Awami League’s secular vote dividing.
Those who believe in secular and progressive politics will vote for Awami League. And those who promote Anti-India, religious and so-called politics will find their votes divided.
Heavy contest at field-level will begin today. Parties’ internal struggles regarding candidacy will die out. Alliance and Awami League candidates will work towards the goals of the Boat. Past occurrences also substantiate this. There will always be animosity in the first few days, but later everyone will unite under the Boat.
This will not cause any problems. What is the reason for JP to put Plow on 132 seats? Why did they do this?
The answers to these questions will take some days.
The probability of the Grand Alliance winning is 100% because under its leadership Bangladesh is progressive; people are directly benefited, especially from infrastructure development to financial self-reliance.
From our per-capita income to our average life expectancy and every social development in between – the people will definitely keep this in mind.
If the general people want to keep the flow of development going, they will most certainly vote for the Grand Alliance and take them to victory.
Dr. Mizanur Rahman is the Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University.
