Supporters of axed BNP aspirants protest at party offices

    Supporters of BNP leaders and activists dropped by their own party from the 11th parliamentary polls sat for their second straight day of protests in front of the party’s offices in Gulshan in the capital.
    Several hundred BNP activists blocked the gates to Khaleda Zia’s offices in Gulshan-2’s Road 86 yesterday.
    A security guard employed at the building said that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and several other BNP leaders had left the offices late on Saturday night and had not returned on Sunday morning.

    Supporters of Munshiganj-1 BNP nominee Md Abdullah blocked the front gate to the office, reported Bdnews.

    They wore white cloth bands on their heads. In addition to chanting slogans, some of them were seen shoving and kicking the gates.

    “We want Abdullah Bhai and will not accept anyone else from Munshiganj-1,” one of the protesters shouted.
