A pirate was killed in a reported gunfight with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Pekua upazila of the district.
The incident happened at 4:30 am on Wednesday (December 5).
The deceased is identified as–Tareq, 30, son of Abdus Shukur, haling from Kutubdia upazila.
“Tareq was a listed pirate of Ministry of Home Affairs,” Didarul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kutubdia police station, told Banglanews.
“A total 13 cases were registered against him.
A foreign pistol, 2 one shooter guns, 23 rounds of cartridges were seized,” OC said.
