Report cop misdeed in polls: Dr Kamal to media

Jatiya Oikyafront’s key leader Dr Kamal Hossain yesterday urged the media to keep vigil against any “unlawful activities” of the police force during election, reports The Daily Star.
He made the call while talking to reporters at Paltan in Dhaka this afternoon.
“If you see any irregularity with police, report it. This responsibility of you (the media) is very important and crucial on the election day,” he said.
Dr Kamal, the president of Gono Forum, a component of the Oikyafront, reiterated his call to the public for “guarding the polling centres” during election.
“The government fell into uncertainty when Oikyafront joined the election,” he said.
He further added, Oikyafront will unveil its election manifesto by December 8. The 11th general election will be held on December 30. As per the polls schedule, the deadline for filing the nomination papers was November 28.
The authorities have fixed December 2 for scrutiny and December 9 the last date for nomination withdrawal.
