CEC to judicial magistrates: Use highest power during polls

    Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has ordered judicial magistrates to use the highest power – afforded them by the law – during the upcoming 11th general election reports Dhaka Tribune.
    He made the statement at the opening session of a judicial magistrate training – held at the Election Commission Secretariat in Dhaka’s Agarga on area yesterday organized for the upcoming election.
    The CEC also called for electoral inquiry committees to play a neutral role in the election.
    The Election Commission formed 122 electoral inquiry committees – with two judicial magistrates in each committee – to prevent irregularities during the election period.

    As many as 244 judicial magistrates – members of all the electoral inquiry committees – participated in the training.
