6 Bangladeshi students in Int’l Junior Science Olympiad

    Six Bangladeshi students is participating in the 15th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO), scheduled to be held in Botswana from December 2 to 11, reports Daily Star.
    Munir Hasan, senior vice president of Society for the Popularisation of Science, Bangladesh (SPSB), made the announcement at a press conference in Dhaka yesterday. The six participants were selected from over 5,500 aspirants. The participants are: Muaamber Sarower Nibir of Narayanganj Ideal School, Avishek Mazumder Santu of Birshreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College, Imtiaz Tanvir Rahim of Notre Dame College, Absar Khan Siam and Minhajur Rahman Chowdhury Mahin of Motijheel Ideal School and College, and Abrar Tasneem Abir of St Gregory’s High School. A total of 50 countries will compete in the under-16 Olympiad. During the competition, they will sit for written, multiple choice question and practical examination. Bangladesh participated in the IJSO in 2015 for the first time and so far won a total of four silver and seven bronze medals in last three Olympiads.
