No political party has the support of the public.
BNP claims to have the support of the public sphere, but considering the vandalism they caused in the previous election, there’s a cloud of doubt over their claim. However, the people might lean toward BNP due to becoming disillusioned after certain actions taken by Awami League – This is not ‘support of the public’. This is a backlash by the people, a consequence.
Several parties have joined together with BNP to form an opportunist alliance, which is quite unfor tunate. This could negatively affect BNP’s credibility and ultimately be a catastrophe for Bangladesh’s politics
